Mozilla's browser, Firefox made gains against the Microsoft's Internet Explorer(IE) to a total global share of 8.69%. IE still owns the street with over 86% but Firefox has made substantial in recent months. The percentage increase of .24% does indicate a decline in growth experts say.

Another competitor, Safari for use with Apple's OS gained ground moving to 1.26% but still way behind Microsoft.

A co-founder of OneStat.com, Niels Brinkman said he thought users of Internet Explorer for Apple Macs were also abandoning it by switching to Safari, which is up to 1.26 per cent, according to the company's figures.
